Atomic Habits

by James Clear

Habit stacking

Make cues obvious Time and location for example

After current habit I will new habit After making coffee do whm and push ups

Habits should have a home

Is easier to avoid a bad habit than to resist it

Temptation bundling

It’s about framing things differently: I’m not doing exercises I’m getting stronger and healthier and losing weight

Action is the type of behavior they will produce an outcome

Best is the enemy of good

Delaying failure…. sometimes I get stuck in the planning stage rather than just do things

Active practice instead of passive planning

Make it easy to do good habits

What are my points of friction to learn Japanese?

Business is the never ending quest to produce the same result in an easier fashion

Commitment device One time action to increase my chances of success

Habit stacking + habit tracking (after habit is done)

Accountability contract

Genes don’t decide your destiny but they show your opportunities

Tailor habits to my personality Don’t work against myself, use myself properly

You can success by being different not only by being better

Work hard on the things that comes easy

Keep your identity small
